Tessa turned one last Saturday and had the best birthday party ever. Well, she ate a chocolate cupcake, had lots of people to smile at, was allowed to tear paper, and crawled around inside a huge bouncy thing. I don't think she could've asked for much more.

She was also fortunate enough to have her Auntie Pam, Auntie Dianne, and Uncle Jim come to visit for the weekend. She loved having visitors, and was happy to have two Aunties to hold her, though Uncle Jim's ideas on childrearing have kept him off the babysitting list permanently. Not that I think he would actually put her in the bathroom with a bowl of food and the toilet lid up to drink out of...but its just safer this way. Sophia loved every minute of their visit and cried after they left, but I assured her she will see them all again someday soon.

Tessa also had her one year check-up this week and is quite healthy, as was already apparent. She weighs 19 lbs 7 oz and is 31.7 inches tall. Unless you have a baby that age, that probably doesn't mean much but her percentiles might help. She is in the 95% for her height and in the 25% for her weight...tall and thin! Though she really doesn't look thin at all, unless she is next to another baby with plenty of cute chubby rolls. She has been growing at an average pace though, so she is just perfect for her!
