Boxing Day

Boxing Day isn't really a holiday at all in America, but in the UK it is just as important as Christmas.  My neighbor explained to me that they spend Christmas at home with their immediate family and on Boxing Day have their extended family over or go round to their extended family's home.  Hmmm, we haven't got an extended family to visit.  Fortunately, we do have lots of new games to play and fun things to try out.
Sophia tries out her Scratch-it pets booklet to make endless drawings of multi-coloured animals.

Tessa tries out her new Gingerbread Man game.  (For some reason, when I upload this picture to Blogger, it constantly converts itself back to this direction!  Five tries is enough for me to give up, just tilt your head to see better!)

Sophia's new book, in which you write much of the story yourself, included this clever disguise!  You can notice our fish, Cruella, to the left.
Who is that hairy person?!
After trying out a lot of our games and toys from Christmas, and sampling quite a bit of our Christmas goodies, we all could do with a bit of fresh air, exercise, and sunshine.  Well, two out of three anyway.  We went for a bike ride around our neighborhood.

A few streets over from us is Elliott Close, so we took this picture for our good friend Elliott in Texas!  (A Close is like a cul-de-sac)

We stopped by a playground for a bit more fun.
The slide was quite dirty at the bottom, so the girls had to stop themselves and hop up before they slid to the end.

And that was our Boxing Day!

Love it! They even spelled Elliott right. ;0) Glad you had a fun Boxing Day. It's kind of nice to be able to pick and choose just how much of any holiday you want to do!
