But not the rhinoceros!

We went to the zoo with Tutu and the girls loved it, of course. We were able to see a newborn zebra, just 12 hours old and found out that their stripes are first brown. We watched a gorilla pee down the side of the wall and Sophia thought that was the neatest thing ever and pretended to be a gorilla peeing on anything she could perch on. We rode the train and waved to all the people and animals we saw as we went by, even the pregnant elephant (who we learned is 11 months pregnant and has 11 more to go!).

The funniest part of the day was when we walked up to the rhinoceros area just as a giant rhino walked up to the wall and it visibly scared Tessa. She is an animal lover and does everything in her power to get as close as possible to every animal she encounters...but not the rhinoceros! She was in my arms and pushed against the wall, trying to get us farther away. I wonder what she thought as she looked at that creature that more closely resembles the dinosaurs at the museum than any animal she has seen. At least the hippopotomus has the decency to stay far away!

That is too funny about the rhino. They are really getting their own ideas about things, aren't they? Tessa's hair looks quite blonde- she is also getting her own (not just like Sophia) look!
