Schools in England celebrate a day called
Red Nose Day. No, they don't fondly remember clowns of years past, instead they allow children to dress up like clowns on a school day! Children are encouraged to wear whatever silly, wild, weird clothes they can come up with. After wearing a uniform to school every day, the children love it! For the privilege of dressing up silly, the children must bring in £1 (about $1.50) to donate to charity. It is optional, but many participate. Grocery stores even have
Red Nose Day displays as the day approaches, so that children can pester their parents to purchase fun, new, silly accessories.
For my girls, however, I led them to their dress-up closet and their regular closets and told them to pick whatever! Sophia quickly found the court jester costume that my mother made for my brother when he was about 8 years old. Although it was a little roomy, it fit her well enough and she was done!
Wow, that was easy. Wow, clever, creative, and cute!

Tessa, however, believes that dress-up must involve a princess dress. It took a little encouraging for her to realize that being silly could be fun, also. But then she got the hang of it and together, we picked out multiple, randomly mismatched tops and bottoms, with some crazy shades, wild hair, and a doctor's robe (according to Tessa). Considering some of the outfits she chooses for school, I wondered if anyone would notice the difference but decided it was outrageous enough.

| Seriously, I did not pose her, she came up with these positions on her own! |

She has a baby leg on her arm! I love it. They are so cute. That beats "pajama day" at an American school for sure!
